In the late 1800s, early explorers in interior British Columbia discovered gold in the mountains near Rossland. A gold rush ensued, giving birth to the Dewdney Trail (which brought gold seekers from the U.S.) and a scattering of gold rush towns. The gold didn't last, but those explorers had the gracious foresight to leave some incredible mountain bike trails in their wake (thanks, eh), including the aforementioned Dewdney Trail, a beautiful, winding descent just above Rossland.

This Ride is for you if you love to ride, and love big rides. You don't mind a big climb if it's going to get you a spectacular view and an amazing downhill. You can climb up to 2,000 vertical feet per day at a moderate pace, and can handle technical terrain such as roots, rocks and obstacles up to 10" high.
