DAY 1: Cape Winelands
We meet at the five-star Cape Grace Hotel in the historic Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, in the heart of Cape Town. After a briefing and introduction from your expert guides, we make our way to the historic town of Paarl in the charming Cape Winelands. This is a stunning region with breathtaking natural beauty, vibrant history and a melting pot of people and cultures. The experience here should form an essential part of your South African holiday. There really is no better way to experience the rich palette, spectacular geography and diversity of this remarkable region than by taking an eco-active excursion with Bike and Saddle. The Cape is literally surrounded by vineyards, which produce some of the world’s finest vintages. Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl are world-renowned, attracting visitors from all over the globe. Home to the mighty Paarl Rock, the second largest granite outcrop in the world and the Taal Monument, a tribute to the Afrikaans language. Paarl is a historic town resplendent with natural wonders and some simply superb wine estates. Grande Roche Estate is a national monument and the Cape Dutch styled hotel is a member of the exclusive Mantis Property group. After check-in, and admiring the beautiful grounds which are located in a lush vineyard, we enjoy a sumptuous lunch and guided cycle through the region, stopping off at a number of wine estates along the way. We return for dinner at the award-wining Bosman’s Restaurant.

This reserve is known for its history and heritage of the San Bushmen, who are referred to as Africa’s First People. We stay at the luxury tented lodge Dwyka and enjoy a well-deserved gourmet lunch. We take a spectacular game drive, traversing the reserve with a qualified ranger in open Landcruisers, looking for the Big Five, plains game, abundant plant and bird life. Not to mention its magnificent presence of both the Africa's Big Five and white lion. After a 22km cycle, we return to the lodge for a well-deserved breakfast. The rest of the morning is at your leisure. After lunch, enjoy a walk to some of the Bushmen rock art sites. The San people roamed the area for thousands of years, living in harmony with nature through their nomadic hunter-gatherer lifestyle. Enjoy one last game drive in the evening and another culinary feast at the open-air boma and traditional African barbecue. The beauty and splendor of Sanbona is experienced throughout the various guided tours. One cannot help but be overwhelmed by the sheer majesty of the geological formations, the rich fossil beds, and rock art left behind by Africa’s First People. The spectacular and diverse vegetation that support the incredible wealth of animal life and the sheer majesty of size, space and quiet, speak directly to the soul.
